This calendar is big right? Okay, maybe you can’t tell because it’s just a photo, but this calendar is 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall. Yes, it’s big! A huge part of blogging is planning out your content and topics for the year. I’ve been taking an amazing class from some content masters on this to learn more about how to blog in the way that’s best for me, and I decided to get a large calendar like this to put on my wall above my desk so that I can think out the entire year in advance. Here’s how I made a quick and simple DIY Large Wall Calendar Frame!
SUPPLIES:
- Wall Calendar
- 1x4x8 white wood board
- Pencil
- Saw
- Staple Gun and staples
- Tape Measure
- Paint
- Rope
- Nails
Measure and Cut:
First, lay out and measure your calendar. Grab your wood board (I had two just in case it was longer than I thought) tape measure, pencil and stapler loaded with staples.
Measure the length of your calendar onto your wood and mark where you’ll cut. You want two pieces cut at the width of your calendar.
Cut your boards to length. I just love my miter saw so!
Lay it all out to make sure you cut them the right length. I’m sure you did. I’m sure I’m the only one that hasn’t measured correctly in the past… 😉
Paint:
If you want to, paint your boards! I chose this awesome Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Vintage by DecoArt. One of my favorite paints!
It covered the wood in just one coat and dried quickly. Love working with this stuff!
Staple:
Once your boards are dry, time to staple the calendar onto the back. Flip both over so the back is facing up. Use your stapler or staple gun to attach the calendar. I have a staple gun that I can connect to an air compressor, but this job was just quick and easy so I used my handheld heavy duty stapler. (The calendar is two sided and this is the back side showing. I just realized it would look like I was stapling the front, which I did not!)
Staple a board to the top and the bottom of your calendar on the back side.
Hang:
To hang it I took some thin rope I had and tied a bowtie knot around each end of the top board.
All finished!
And there you have it! A crazy simple and cheap way to add a frame to your wall calendar. Here it is hung above my computer desk. (FYI: Dual screens are my favorite.) I literally just hammered two level nails in above this and hung the rope on it. Easy peasy.
Hope you liked the Simple DIY Large Wall Calendar Frame project. Anyone can do this, I promise!

I have a wall calendar on my kitchen, though a bit smaller. It’s great to be able to see everything at a glance.
Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty Link Party. Pinned.
This is great! I have a booklet calendar on my desk that I use, but it would also be great to have one where I can see the entire year at once. I’ll need to find wall space for this one! Thanks for sharing!
I love having it on the wall so I can just look up when I need to check a date. Thanks so much!
