- Chunky Yarn (affiliate link) Lion Brand Thick & Quick Yarn
- Crochet Hook K or L (check gauge to determine your preference.
You will need at least two skeins of chunky yarn for this scarf. If you decide you want it thicker or longer (mine is about 6 ft long) then you’ll want to grab another skein. Now that is using the Thick & Quick yarn, so if you’re using a different one it may not have the same yardage of yarn.
Row 1: Make a foundation double crochet until it is the length that you want (don’t forget about the length of the fringe when calculating) I tend to like mine long, so they end up about 6 ft.
Row 2-4: Turn, ch2, double crochet to end of row.
After row 4, tie off. (Unless you want it thicker, then add another row!)
Make fringe by cutting 10″ pieces of the yarn and looping it around the bottom.
Like I said, this pattern is crazy simple for a beginning crocheter, but looks fabulous! I have had great luck with a few different brands of thick chunky yarn, so if you don’t like wool, there are other options. Give it a try!
