About four years ago I started writing my own crochet patterns. I would always find patterns that I liked for the most part but would always change in some way in order to make the project exactly what I wanted. I realized that sometimes I changed the patterns so drastically that it wasn’t really recognizable as following the pattern and that’s when I realized I needed to start writing my own.

Hazel’s Market Bag came to me because I was in great need of a simple bag that would carry a lot of stuff, but that wouldn’t just be a gigantic bag if it were mostly empty. This bag sort of stretches to carry what is needed, but then springs back when not weighed down. I love it and I have many of them around the house. We use them for the farmer’s market buys, library books, and as church bags. I’ve made many for gifts, and sold even more when I had my old Etsy shop. Basically, this bag is awesome!

Hi, I’ve entered my email, went to my email clicked and verified but it continues to put me back at the page asking for my email to subscribe to your blog (already did). Any ideas on how I can locate the market bag pattern? Thanks.
I’m so sorry it is not working. I tested it and it worked okay for me. I will email you the pattern right now.
I am super happy I’ve stumbled over your pattern here. I have pins of marked bags galore on my Pinterest boards but never could decide which one to make. Now it’s easy, I’ll simply try my crocheting hands on yours. Also, I started to alter patterns to my liking, too. Crazy, if considering how hard crocheting was in the beginning…and all of a sudden you create your own patterns, lol
I have about ten of these floating around my home and we use them for everything. Took one to the pool yesterday to carry my sunscreen and other supplies. Hope you love it! They are easy!
A very practical and cute bag Sheri. I’m going to give it a try in a natural colour for a bit of a French market look,
Thanks for sharing at Create, Bake, Grow & Gather. I’ve pinned from this post xx
Really cute and so handy to have! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
These are so pretty and so practical! I know I could find many uses for them. Thank you for sharing them with Party in Your PJ’s!
Thank you Teresa!
Hi, I am RaeLynn from itchinforsomestitchin.com and I found your market bag on the Your Whim’s Wednesday link up. I love it! It’s so practical and useful, especially where I am from because here, you have to pay for plastic bags at the grocery store. Crocheting grocery bags like your lovely pattern is cheaper, better for the environment, and much prettier!
I particularly love the red, white, & blue combination. Maybe I am just in the 4th of July spirit! LOL
Anyway, it’s such a great pattern that I just had to pin and stumble it!
Sincerely,
RaeLynn
Thank you so much for sharing it ReaLynn! I make these for people all the time, it’s definitely one of my most favorite patterns! Have a fantastic week!
Great project, practical and useful.
Thank you!
It’s a lovely idea, and a very pretty bag too. Thank you for sharing the pattern at The Really Crafty Link Party. Pinned.
